Questions and Answers for Non-Members
Why does One on One require two monologues for the new membership audition?
One on One's mission is to create a community of trained, professional actors who are prepared to meet industry guests. Having more than 1 monologue shows us that not only have you prepared for this audition, but that you are ready to join the level of skilled and competent actors who make One on One unique from other actors' services.Who are the guests coming in for the One on One Sessions?
Our detailed schedule of classes and private One on One Sessions is exclusive to our members, available in the Members Only section. One on One Productions brings in guests from all of the top NYC agencies, the busiest casting offices (ABC Primetime, Hopkins Smith and Barden, Lynn Kressel Casting) and Independent Filmmakers with award-winning films in Sundance, Tribeca, and Toronto film festivals, to name a few. Unlike other actors' services, One on One will not bring in assistant casting directors or assistant agents. At this position, these people are unable to help you.How do One on One Sessions work?
Our private appointments, or One on One Sessions, are held in the evening during the week or on Saturday afternoons. Actors schedule individual appointments, and must arrive 20 minutes early for the Session. If the actor does not adhere to the "20 Minute Rule," they lose their place in the line of scheduled meetings. Payment is made on the night of the session, by cash or check. We do not accept credit cards after 6pm, or for purchases under $100. The actors have up to 8 minutes with the guest, in which time they perform either a monologue, prepared sides, or commercial copy. We will always have listed on our website what the guest expects to see.I already have representation, why would I need One on One?
One on One is designed to help actors further their career by offering Classes and Sessions where they are seen by working directors, agents, casting directors and other industry people. These leaders in the entertainment world frequently call in and book One on One's members. For the actor with representation, developing relationships at One on One with working directors and casting directors has proven to be extremely helpful.
