Who we are

One on One is designed to help actors further their career through our On-camera Classes and Private Appointments where they are seen by working Casting Directors, Legit and Commercial Agents, Managers & Theatre Directors. These leaders in the entertainment world frequently call in and book One on One's members!

Membership has no expiration, fees or dues!

Since New York's most influential people in the industry find our screening process so beneficial to discovering talent, we take special care to accept only the best talent. This requires that you audition to become a member of One on One. Our members are auditioned by professional theatre directors and are screened for talent, professionalism, and demeanor. If you are accepted as a One on One member, there is a one-time registration fee of $50, which allows you to register for all of our events and gain access to our members only website.

Step One: Audition for Us

  • Two Contemporary Monologues
  • Actors must prepare two contemporary monologues from preferably from published scripts, no longer than one and a half minutes per piece, with no regional dialect other than your own. We are looking for contemporary theatre or film and television pieces. They do not need to be contrasting - just you're best work.
  • Headshot and Résumé
  • Actors must bring a headshot and résumé to the audition, demonstrating their solid training and a professional approach to auditioning.

Step Two: Audition for Us

For your audition, you will be screened by one of our working directors. You are already getting exposure from this audition; several actors have been cast in their projects.

Step Three: If you are accepted

If you are accepted, there is a one-time registration fee of $50, paid in cash on the day of your scheduled orientation. At the orientation, you will receive a schedule of classes and sessions. Your membership also includes access to our "Members Only" website, which will allow you to browse your schedule and register for all private appointments & classes.

Questions and Answers for Non-Members

Why does One on One require two monologues for the new membership audition?

Showing more then 1 monologue allows the director to advise you on which work shows off your talent the best for auditions. Also One on One's mission is to create a community of trained, professional actors who are prepared to meet industry guests. Having more than 1 monologue shows us that not only have you prepared for this audition, but that you are ready to join the level of skilled and competent actors who make One on One unique from other actors' services.

Who are the guests coming in for the One on One Private Appointments?

Our detailed schedule of classes and private One on One Private Appointments is exclusive to our members, available in the Members Only section. One on One brings in guests from all of the top NYC agencies, the busiest casting offices (for example, ABC Primetime, Hopkins Smith and Barden, Lynn Kressel Casting) and Independent Filmmakers with award-winning films in Sundance, Tribeca, and Toronto film festivals, to name a few.

Is the cost always $35 for One on One Private Appointments?

We also offer Private Appointment Packages (e.g., 5-30 packs and a one-year unlimited package that offers substantial savings on regularly priced private appointments.

I already have representation, why would I need One on One?

For the actor with representation, developing relationships at One on One with working casting directors and film makers has proven to be extremely helpful. In fact many agents refer their actors to One on One to build these relationships as well as sharpen their skills.
