The class will cover all these areas and more!
- How to create a role for yourself for a feature film.
- How to write a pitch.
- How to approach the industry and feature your idea.
- Knowing how your screenplay will be marketed.
- Writing query letters, finding a producer, applying for grants
Additionally, you will get the opportunity to:
- Pitch practice: Pitching the ideas developed from the 1st class one-on-one with Cordelia
- Learn how to get a short film or teaser made and seen
- Get insider tips on attending script markets -- which ones, how to prepare

What does the independent film market want???
How to structure and pitch a feature film story staring YOU.
New perspectives on the proactive and strategic approach to getting work as an actor.
Case studies of actors who have written themselves into Film and TV history.
What makes a great cinematic story from the producer’s perspective.
WEEK 2:
One on one coaching on pitching your project: Each participant will pitch their story to the group.
How to get your work recognized in the industry: How to approach production companies and to make sure your script is at the top of the pile.
Advice on entering competitions, script markets and festivals.

Cordelia Stephens- Mint Productions, has twelve years of experience developing and producing projects in the UK and the US, and was Head of Development at Belladonna Productions, NY from 2004-2012 during the development and production of films such as Transamerica, A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints, An Englishman in New York, Stake Land and Funny Games US. Now producing independently through her new company- Mint Productions, she has a thorough understanding of the industry and the current players, and attends international film markets throughout the year pitching projects and raising finance. Cordelia completed an eight-month International Secondment, financed by the British Government, during which she interned at sales agent/ finance consultants Cinetic Media, and at the production company Open City Films. She participated in the prestigious EAVE European Co-production course in Ireland, Cyprus and Sweden. She keeps a close eye on emerging talent through strong links with production initiatives in the UK, having Executive Produced fourteen short films for the Cineworks production scheme, six of which have won New Talent BAFTAs. Cordelia has delivered guest lectures for the screenwriting programs at Temple University, New York University, One on One NYC, The School of Visual Arts and has spoken on panels at the IFP’s- Script to Screen conference. She has an MA in Fine Art from Edinburgh University and Edinburgh College of Art, Scotland.
