Contemporary Monologue

Ms. Moarefi is  an associate producer and casting consultant with Cypress Film, is currrently developing several theatre and film projects, including "Escalate", "Prisoners of Whittier and the Broadway musical "Invisible Man", and consulting on the feature "Slugs", directed by DW Young. She just finished Co-Casting Directing(with Janet Foster) and  US Producing of the upcoming BBC Radio Drama "Severed Threads".  Recent casting credits include the independent short "Not Interested", directed by DW Young,  (SXSW 2010, Sarasota Film Festival 2010, Provincetown Film Festival 2010, Vancouver Film Festival 2010), and the BBC Radio Drama "The Day That Lehman Died", winner of Peabody Award 2010.' Upcoming films  include “Stags” and "Horizon".  Other include HBO’s “Doris and Bernard”, Artios Nominated, starring Susan Sarandon and Ralph Fiennes, "Jesus Maria", directed by Caroline Kava,  “Good Sharma”, starring Joan Allen and Billy Connelly, “The Exonerated”, a Court TV production;  “Celebrity Charades”,  “Weekend Getaway”, starring Jill Hennessy, “QM”, starring Kathleen Chalfant, as well as “Polio Water”, starring Misha Barton and Cherry Jones.  She was also a  NY  casting director for the NBC daytime series “Passions”.

As associate with Ellen Parks, Ms. Moarefi has been involved in casting "The Hunting Gun", "You Can't Win", "The Key Man", amongst other films,   Other credits w/Ellen include the Artios (and Emmy) winning  Grey Gardens", starring Jessica Lange and Drew Barrymore for HBO, “August”, starring Josh Hartnett.

Sample theater credits include:  "Julius Caesar" and “Macbeth”, for Shakespeare on the Sound;  “The Exonerated” (Artios Best Off-Broadway play),starring Richard Dreyfuss, Mia Farrow, Jeff Goldblum, and Aidan Quinn, which played Off-Broadway, the National Tour and The Edinburgh Festival; “Manuscript”, directed by Bob Balaban; She started in casting at Circle Repertory Company, and ended up the casting director for a time.   Past work in NY theatre includes Second Stage Theatre & The Atlantic Theatre Company.  She occasionally functions as casting asssociate for Bway and regional theatre casting director Janet Foster.

She has worked as an Associate Producer on the films  “Bed Of Roses”, and “Julian Po”, both starring Christian Slater, “Cherry”, starring Shalom Harlow, and “Sidestreets”, starring Shabana Azmi and Shashi Kapoor, which was an Merchant Ivory Production, as well as “Milwaukee Minnesota”, starring Bruce Dern, Randy Quaid aand Troy Garity. She was also a producer on “The City of Dreams”, and has been know to dabble in voice and promo casting, most recently for Hasbro Games.
